Santiago de Cuba, Thursday, February 7, 2020, CMKC, Radio Revolucion. – With an extensive network made up of 657 facilities and almost 5 thousand computers, tablets and smartphones, the Computer and Electronics Youth Club plans to expand its services in 2020.
Facilitating access to and understanding of automatic processes from the development of robotics is one of the challenges set by the Computer and Electronics Youth Clubs to begin their implementation in 2020 throughout the country.
According to Osvaldo Martínez García, general director of this institution, founded by the Historic Leader of the Revolution 32 years ago, in this city, only some Higher Education centers are working on these issues, mainly the Technological University of Havana and the “Central University” of Las Villas.
“In the Youth Club we have more access to all age groups: young people and children; so that from an early age they integrate the use of robotics and automation into their daily knowledge, and that tomorrow they can contribute to the development of these sciences,” he said.
The director also explained that the aim is to provide all municipalities in the country with a classroom trained with sufficient equipment and technology for the development of electronic skills in infants. “There are experiences in Havana that have achieved national results and are being exported to international events,” he said.
Similarly, Martínez García spoke of the benefits that robotics provides for older adults, and highlighted the need for them to know about some social uses of automation that could impact the quality of life of older people.
The maximum representative of the Youth Clubs in the country, referred to the access to information about the Internet of Things and other knowledge, available through “the family computer”.
With an extensive network made up of 657 facilities and almost 5 thousand computers, tablets and smartphones, the Computer and Electronics Youth Clubs plan to expand their services in 2020, which will be associated with the development of e-commerce and e-government, as well as the management of content for the Ecured collaborative encyclopedia.
