Trump, emperor’s rhetoric at the United Nations

The rhetoric of an emperor prevailed today in the speech delivered by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to the United Nations, when he alluded to his military power and made clear who are the countries that constitute the US foreign policy objectives, characterized by meddling in the internal affairs of some countries.

He lambasted China in its trade war, using high tariffs for the products of that Asian nation. Against North Korea and Iran he wielded the issue of denuclearization and the economic measures applied to them by the United States.

He declared his war against socialism, so Cuba and Venezuela were on the table. He states that socialism has nothing to do with equality and justice. How dare Trump reveal his ignorance of what capitalism is doing in Latin America and Africa where poverty, destitution, disappearances, persecution and assassination of social leaders have been going on for more than a century.

Does the president of the United States know that when a people has the right to free education and public health; that when a people defends dignity and decorum with works of solidarity saving the lives of thousands of people in other countries; that when all children have the equal right to life, without fear of being the object of organ trafficking or being the victim of sexual abuse or being used as child labor, that is socialism?

Does Trump not know that Socialism defends peace and not war, that it defends diplomacy as a means of conflict resolution, and not violence. Does he not know that Socialism does not allow wealth to be concentrated in a few while the majority cries out for a piece of bread or a glass of water?

Is Mr Tump forgetting that socialism has never declared a war on any country?

Socialism does not suit him because it goes against the hegemony they defend, against neoliberalism; because it alerts peoples to the threat that imperialism poses to humanity.
