Puerto Rico: Vessel Sails In Provocative Act Against Venezuela
San Juan – A 300-ton vessel left the capital of Puerto Rico for Venezuela to join the provocation launched by the United States against the constitutional government of Nicolas Maduro.
Puerto Rican President Ricardo Rossello Nevares confirmed that the ship, with 10 vans on board, is scheduled to arrive in the South American nation next Saturday to support the media spectacle of supposed humanitarian aid plotted by the self-proclaimed president in charge Juan Guaidó.
This new operation comes after the Puerto Rican government made an international fool of itself two weeks ago when Secretary of State Luis Rivera Marin announced that an aid plane had landed in Venezuela, which Caracas denied.
Meanwhile, the Puerto Rican organization Mothers Against War joined Veterans for Peace in repudiating a U.S.-led military intervention in Venezuela against the constitutional government of Nicolas Maduro.
The spokeswoman for the women’s group, Sonia Santiago Hernandez, said the United States has imposed many sanctions on the Venezuelan people, including freezing more than $20 billion.
She also called on the Puerto Rican military to invoke conscientious objection, which is contemplated in its military regulations, and not to be complicit in genocide against the brotherly Venezuelan people.
They always use the military to advance the capitalist interests of Wall Street,’ she said.
The United States, in collusion with several South American governments, particularly that of Colombia, will launch on Saturday an offensive on the border with Venezuela to force the entry of alleged humanitarian aid, rejected by the government of Maduro as an affront to its sovereignty.
