Maduro highlights Venezuela’s victory at the UN

Caracas, Venezuela. – President Nicolás Maduro praised Venezuela’s election by the favorable vote of 105 countries to be part of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

During a day of work in La Guaira, in the north of the country, the president stressed that this success was achieved in the midst of a plot promoted by the United States against the government legitimately elected by the majority of Venezuelans.

Maduro said that neither imperialism nor the Lima Group were able to deal with the Bolivarian Republic.

This Thursday, after the vote of the 193 member states in the UN General Assembly, Venezuela was elected to represent the region, despite the actions of some countries and non-governmental organizations that tried to prevent it, noted Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza.
