Lebanon salutes Cuba’s UN victory
Beirut, Lebanon. – The Latin American Arab Solidarity Association José Martí, in Lebanon, saluted Cuba’s recent victory in the United Nations, manifesting itself in 187 votes in favor of the lifting of the blockade imposed by the United States on the island almost six decades ago.
Wafica Ibrahim, coordinator of the solidarity organization, said that the international community once again triumphed over the genocidal policy practiced by Washington against the largest of the Antilles.
She adds that Cuba symbolizes an example of fraternity and support for the just causes of the world, including that of the Arab peoples, and she reiterates that Cuba is not and will not be alone, as long as there is a dignified being on Earth.
Finally, she declared that the Island constitutes an example of resistance against a common enemy of the peoples who yearn and struggle to be independent, sovereign and to deviate from the designs of US imperialism.
