Global solidarity increases with Venezuela in the face of U.S. blockade
NicolasMaduro Caracas, Aug 14 (Prensa Latina) The international community today increases gestures of solidarity with the Government and people of Venezuela in the face of the economic blockade imposed by the United States to suffocate the development of the South American country.
President Nicolás Maduro thanked more than fifty countries that have expressed their support for the Bolivarian cause against the recently signed executive order by U.S. President Donald Trump.
He notified that to date one million signatures have been collected in the national territory in the world day against coercive and unilateral measures imposed by Washington to destabilize the internal peace of the nation.
Maduro stressed that the process in the national chapter, called No More Trump! demonstrates the popular repudiation to sanctions intended to freeze Venezuelan assets in U.S. territory, and prevents natural and legal persons of both nations from carrying out commercial transactions.
I call upon the People’s Power, the movements and political parties of the Bolivarian Congress of the Peoples and the Popular Units of Integral Defense, to go from house to house so that the people may express with their signature their rejection to the imperial aggression against Venezuela,’ the dignitary urged.
During the celebration of the sixth anniversary of the creation of the System of Missions, Great Missions and Micro Missions, at Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, Maduro reiterated that the head of the White House breaks all the legal statutes and human rights established by the United Nations.
Since last Saturday solidarity movements and people in general from countries such as Germany, Brazil, Portugal, China, Russia, Namibia, France and Bolivia joined the collection of signatures, which will be compiled and delivered to the UN Secretary General, António Guterrez, in September.
Despite attempts by the authorities of the northern nation with the consent of the local opposition to destabilize Bolivarian territory, Maduro said Tuesday that the government’s goal is to declare Venezuela 100 percent free of poverty.
The president recalled that the campaign will last until Sept. 10, rejecting unilateral U.S. measures that threaten the country’s stability, and will be accompanied by a document that will be filed with the UN requesting the end of the blockade.
We are determined to continue in the battle for the defense of our freedom and self-determination. We will win together,” Maduro said on his official Twitter account. da/odf
