Women in Contramaestre enjoy their rights

When in many parts of the world today women continue to be the object of absolute discrimination, in Cuba women celebrate the 59th anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), which groups and defends the rights to inclusion in social roles.

At the ceremony celebrating the date, women who have stood out in the work of the organization received the medal August 23rd. For this recognition, the contribution to community work was taken into account.

The federated women from rural communities expressed their gratitude to Fidel Castro and Vilma Espín who showed the way to follow towards emancipation.

Today Cuban women are professionals in all fields of knowledge, leaders at any level of Cuban society, housewives. Institutionally, They have all rights at the same level as men. And they belong to international organizations aiming at the emancipation of women on a global level.
