Is Contramaestre in carnival? (+Photos)
No. Contramaestre is not in carnival even if it seems so. Every Saturday the Avenida Camilo Cienfuegos of this city in the East of Cuba is like this. This is the fair of agricultural products where the population acquires in unrestricted sale what does not come by La Libreta.
La Feria de Contramaestre, basically, food, vegetables, fruits, pork and ram meat, chicken, live chickens, and fish. They also sell different types of fresh and industrial spices and seasonings.
People enjoy saying “I’m going to the fair”. The avenue becomes a space of satisfaction to bring to the family what is necessary for dining and of reencounter with friends and relatives that we do not see frequently.
The population is still waiting for the decrease in the prices of some products, still high for low-income consumers. However, for those who work in the budgeted sector today, they experience greater satisfaction in coming to the Fair, due to the wage increase which began last July.
