Contramaestre constitutes its Referendum Commission
The Municipal Electoral Commission (CEM) was made up in the Contramaestre, jurisdiction of eastern Cuba, in the face of the referendum to legitimize the nation’s new Constitution, on February 24.
In the presence of Jorge Luis Fraga Novella, president of Contramaestre government, Julio César García García, as president of the CEM, took office. As well as Ariel Martínez and Francisco Collazo, vice-president and secretary of this structure respectively, in addition to the 14 members.
In the ceremony held at René Portocarrero Art Gallery, the oath to comply with the Cuban electoral law was made clear. As an indispensable step to guarantee the organization, direction and validation of the popular referendum to be held on February 24. Making legality, transparency and veracity is a priority in the constitutional referendum.
As Garcia Garcia says, “the organizational task will be strengthened here so that Contramaestre is distinguished by the participation of the majority of the people in the polls as well as by the quality of the exercise of voting.
