2019 May Day in Contramaestre, Santiago de Cuba
This May Day in Contramaestre municipality of Santiago de Cuba province, local workers showed their commitment to the Cuban Revolution by taking part in the parade to celebrate the International Worker´s Day.
Contramaestrian workers while carrying placards, posters, signs and pictures, said their slogan and expressions supporting the Cuban government.
“Unity, commitment and victory” is the basic slogan. Their commitment is to work together for a better society, for producing more food for the population, and for increasing production in general for export to diminish import, as well as to enhance service in general.
Another great purpose of the parade of May Day was express the absolute rejection to Trump´s decisions to enforce Title III of Helms-Burton Act, to do away with the agreements between Major League Baseball and the Cuban Baseball Federation, as well as to announce restrictions to reduce the US citizens visiting Cuba and the remittances from US-Cubans to their relatives in the Island, everything as part of the US economic and financial blockade against Cuba since 1962.
The whole parade was a sign of support to the Cuban Revolution. Workers in Contramaestre continue to find alternatives to overcome the daily difficulties due to economic shortages, and to keep on defending the social achievements of the Cuban social project.
