Debates on Draft Constitution Strengthens Unity in Contramaestre

Consultation in Contramaestre of Draft Magna Carta of Cuba, is marked by popular unity around the approach of the draft constitution whose essence is to defend our sovereignty, national integrity and to guarantee better living and legal conditions to every Cuban citizen wherever they are.

In the more than four hundred meetings held in this municipality in eastern Cuba, citizens fully identify with the principles of social and humanist justice that make up the political system, as enshrined in the Constitution. Local citizens have posed their criteria such as: the new proposal concerning the institution of marriage, and the recognition of the licit concentration of wealth by natural persons of the Cuban nation.

As part of the popular consultation in Contramaestre, the preamble of the Draft Constitution of the Republic of Cuba, has allowed to receive opinions that invigorate the defense of the history of the nation alluding figures in the independence of Cuba such as: Antonio Maceo, Mariana Grajales and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes.

In the warmth of the popular consultation on the Draft Constitution of the Republic of Cuba, the unity of the Contramaestrian people is also manifested by listening to criteria that support the legality of the socialist and legal system as well as the leading role of the Communist Party as an organized vanguard and superior leading force of society and the State.

In all consultation scenarios of the civil society of this eastern region, the message is clear, as lawyer Rolando Despaigne stated: “the blockade damages the lives of Cubans and hinders our development, but with the new Constitution the Cuban Revolution will continue to exist and overcome”.

Every modification suggested is intended to improve each of the aspects set forth in the draft , so that the new Magna Cara is fully reflecting the interest of the Cuban people, as a free nation in the world.
