Bolivia: another low blow from the ultra-right

Contramaestre, Nov. 11.- Latin America is shaking. Another low blow from the ultra-right, this time in Bolivia. A poisoned dart reached the left flank again, when the newly elected president Evo Morales resigned to avoid more violence and more assassinations. The opposition carried out a regrettable coup d’état.

The benefits brought to the Bolivian people, by the government headed by Evo Morales, an extreme defender of his people, of Latin American unity, of world peace, are fading away. A president of that kind does not suit the ultra-right with the sponsorship of U.S. imperialism.

The people are still there, aware of what is good for them and what is not. Chile is in the midst of a government crisis. Problems cannot be solved by making the people suffer. On the contrary, situations are resolved with policies such as those applied by Evo Morales in Bolivia, which led the country to have the best economic growth in Latin America.

With Cuba’s help, he took medical services to areas that had never seen a doctor or a nurse before. Operation Miracles brought back the vision to thousands of Bolivians, and with the Cuban literacy program “Yo sí puedo,” (“I can do it”) thousands of people learned how to read and write.

Evo Morales reversed the situation of foreign companies operating in Bolivia, which exploited natural resources in exchange for crumbs. The foreign companies exploiting lithium, for example, kept  80% of the earnings, gave 20% to the Bolivian government. With the government of Evo Morales, the opposite began to happen.

The truth will prevail again, as it happened recently in Argentina, where Alberto Fernandez was crowned with victory in the recently held elections. The truth prevailed in the struggle for the liberation of Lula Da Silva and he was finally liberated, although there are still allegedly cases pending.
The awakening of the people came to stay. “There is no evil that lasts a hundred years and no body that can stand it.”
