Jose Marti Pioneers Organization

The history of the “Jose Marti Pioneers Organization” began in 1931, when the League of Cuban Pioneers (LCP) was founded. The Union of Rebel Pioneers (URP) was founded 30 years later, in April 4 1961. One year later, the organization became the Union of Cuban Pioneers (UCP).  The Third Congress of the Young Communist League agreed to change its name into “Jose Marti Pioneers Organization”, whose membership would start at early primary grades until high school. This decision brought about great changes in its structure and performance.
