Contramaestre already began to celebrate July 26th
Contramaestre is already celebrating July 26th. The emotions and joys were evident in the municipal ceremony for the 66th anniversary of the event, which took place this Saturday, July 20* in the square of La Algarroba in the Patricio Lumumba district.
Hundreds of Contramaestrians, artists, public health workers, education sector workers, agricultural and factory workers, young people and even children of this town, gathered this morning to recognize the results of years of work and foresee the future to which Cuba aims.
Contramaestre comes to the 66th anniversary of the attack on the barracks of Moncada in Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes de Bayamo, with a prosperous economy committed to important investments that have defined the direction of the Cuban Revolution.
Specifically, Lumumba district saluted the date with the conclusion of the repair of the Consumer Registry Office (OFICODA from its Spanish name), the brick production increased, 35 new houses were completed and an important number of ground floors were eliminated.
In this region of eastern Cuba, an important group of comrades, who constitute the vanguard of the workers in different sectors of production and the service area, received the honorable status of militants of the Communist Party of Cuba.
The commitment to accompany the transformations of the Cuban Revolution in the present times was present along with the feeling of the political recognition.
It was worth to stop in the Contramaestre’s life this July 26th. Along with the traditions, roses and Cuban flags that presided over the commemoration, there was the exquisite of art and culture, as a wise expression of the Cubans’ position to preserve the essences of national identity.
The inhabitants of Contramaestre and especially of the Patricio Lumumba neighborhood were up to what the attackers aspired to in the Moncada Barracks 66 years ago. Each house was an expression of that patriotic conviction. The commitment to constitute an important export pole of the East of Cuba was assumed with responsibility.
Undoubtedly, Contramaestre is celebrating the July 26th. The words of the top leader of the Communist Party of Cuba in this municipality, José Angel Labrada, were a sample of the main challenges that await the children of this land.
But there is no fear. They are not the only or the first challenges. Contramaestre has known how to rise above the challenges in all periods of its centennial history. That is the way its best “children” have shown it today.
*The date of the celebration was advanced in Contramaestre because on July 26 the national act will take place, where a representative of the Cuban government will deliver a speech for the whole nation.
