Orlando Pantoja Hospital with 31 years of work
Orlando Pantoja Tamayo General Teaching Hospital has been providing services to the municipalities of Contramaestre with a population of 105,000 and III Frente with 29940 inhabitants for 31 years. In 1988 Fidel Castro inaugurated this hospital, calling it a jewel of the eastern region.
This hospital is of excellence in the rendering of medical services, with a community projection in all its specialties, implementing the Communist Party’s social policy guidelines with the priorities of the Party’s central committee and the objectives of the first PCC conference which, together with the work objectives, constituted a decisive role in the transformation of the health status of the population of the municipalities of Contramaestre and III Frente, with intersectoral and community participation. It was Declared a Moral Collective with ethics.
This hospital has a medical faculty due to the capacity and experience of the medical collective that works there. Dozens of health workers of this institution have offered their services in many countries around the world.
