Free Hemodialysis service in Contramaestre
The Contramaestre hemodialysis services are 15 years old in July. This is also the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of the Orlando Pantoja Tamayo General Teaching Hospital, in the heat of the 65th anniversary of the assault on the barracks, Moncada in Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in Bayamo.
This small but important medical department provides one of the most sensitive services to Contramaestre population and other nearby municipalities, including the province of Granma in eastern Cuba. At present it is integrated by more than forty workers, who have earned the affection and admiration of patients and families for their attention and professionalism in the quality of service.
Jesús Galán Áreas, head of nursing at the Hemodialysis Room of the Orlando Pantoja Tamayo General Teaching Hospital, said this is a kind of service that is granted to patient on permanent basis.
