The Federation of University Students (FEU) was founded in December 20 1922 by Julio Antonio Mella. The student leader was murdered in Mexico in January 10 1929. His assassination was ordered by dictator Gerardo Machado.
The organization represents the interests and upholds the rights earned by Cuban students. Its objectives are gathering all the university students around the Cuban Revolution and its continuity; promoting better and more thorough teaching and making University Extension the main way to expand sports, culture and intellectual thinking in society.
