Tobacco Factory in Los Negros, National Vanguard

The Tobacco Factory of Los Negros, in the municipality of Contramaestre, was awarded with the Vanguard of Cuba and the condition of Dignified Unity, thanks to the productivity reached in all areas during 2018.

This base business unit has been ranked first in the province of Santiago de Cuba for six consecutive years, where Contramaestre competes with the other eight municipalities.

Ana Lidia Valdés, director of The Tobacco Factory, comments that “the Unit fulfilled its 2018 plan since November 27.

The 74 workers felt stimulated to surpass the goals in honor of the 62nd anniversary of the uprising of November 30 in Santiago de Cuba, and the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.

The tobacco growers of Los Negros put a lot of determination, responsibility and love to be able to produce 2,635,000 cigars for national consumption, with which they surpassed the expectations in the varieties of crema, breva and peticetro.

“(…) If there is anything worthy of praise, it is the sense of belonging that our workers have. For them there is no impossible goal, and a priority is the fulfillment of the plan, in all stages, (…) and intense work is being done to improve the quality of the products,” said Ana Lidia.

The tobacco official corroborates that 2018 was fruitful, both in production and in workers’ incomes. On the other hand, she acknowledges her workers, and she wishes the province’s tobacco sector a happy New Year.
