Russia and Iran won’t use the dollar between them
Russia and Iran have ended the use of the dollar in their bilateral economic relations. Moscow and Tehran intend to use their respective national currencies, although they could ultimately use the euro, according to what Levan Dzhagaryan, the Russian ambassador, declared Tuesday in the Persian country.
We will support the Russian rubles and the Iranian rials, in case of urgent need we will work in euros, in the absence of other options, said Dzhagaryan.
The Russian ambassador also said that, although this is a difficult task, he believes that the banking structures of both nations have the capacity to successfully implement the initiative along with the set of goals.
Last August, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey was preparing to adopt domestic currency payments with Russia, China, Iran and Ukraine.
