President of Cuba Highlights Potential of Chemical Industry
Havana, Cuba. – Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez highlighted the enormous potential of the chemical industry in the country and its impact on the national economy.
While chairing a meeting on the state of this economic sphere, Díaz-Canel learned that it needs technological renewal to promote development.
Diaz-Canel called in that sense to strengthen the link between science, technology and innovation, with the purpose of substituting imports in that area.
The information specified that the chemical industry is present in pharmaceutical production, hydraulic resources, tourism and other economic spheres, and employs more than 6,000 people, and the President added that part of its products are fertilizers, industrial gases, medicines, and others of great demand.
