Awarded center in Contramaestre for outstanding science results

Solving many of the problems facing agriculture today means applying science. In terms of scientific and technical advice, Contramaestre has a Validation and Technology Transfer Station belonging to the Tropical Crop Research Institute (INIVIT) of Cuba. Nine engineers and agronomist technicians with a meritorious reputation within the sector work there.

Their results earned them the Provincial Prize for Technological Innovation from among the four groups that received this status in the province of Santiago de Cuba.

It is endorsed by a trajectory of achievements in the attention to the five eastern provinces. Where work is done to increase production output taking into account their respective climatic and soil conditions.

These men and women of science in Contramaestre, led by Msc. Mario Alarcón Mok, are hosting the Technological Innovation Award, also motivated by the celebration, of the two decade of existence their centre on January 25.

In this festive framework, Alarcón Mok emphasizes that the station is dignified with the objective of offering a better image and comfort for its workers.

From the Conceptualization of the new Cuban economic model, the scientific work has taken relevance because the country has potentialities. This will to give science a decisive place, especially within the economic foundations, is also included among the articles of the New Constitution of the Republic of Cuba.

Hence, the praise to those who from Contramaestre devote their day to promote science and technology in the agricultural branch of the eastern region.
