Arreaza Denounces Venezuelan Opposition Responding To Washington
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza denounced on Monday the control exercised by the United States over the opposition leadership of his country, which hinders the efforts of the Bolivarian government to promote national dialogue.
Arreaza said in an interview with Russia Today that Venezuela needs a nationalist opposition, not dependent on Washington, that confronts in the field of ideas and in the electoral field, so that the people can define their will in democracy.
However, he pointed out that the sectors opposed to the government are exasperated when they encounter a people and a Bolivarian National Armed Force determined to defend national sovereignty and integrity.
Incidentally, Venezuela’s Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, reported that the failed coup attempt the previous week left five dead and more than two hundred detainees.
