Agricultural workers in annual examination

The workers of the Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Union of Contramaestre municipality held their assessment meeting. They exchanged views on the functioning of the workers’ movement.

It was also analyzed what influences the productive yield in those lines fundamentally that substitute imports. The safety of work and the guarantee of the conditions for production were the claims of the tobacco workers.

Likewise, trade unionists from the Laguna Blanca agricultural company discussed the current situation of this productive pole in the fulfillment of its plans. This situation is due to the prolonged drought in the locality and the absence of an efficient study of the use of the 29 irrigation machines existing there.

Daysi Pozo Vera, member of the provincial secretariat of the agricultural, forestry and tobacco union, congratulated the municipality for being one of the Santiago territories that is advancing economically. In addition to having one of the largest delegations to the 21st Congress of the Cuban Workers’ Union (CTC) with 11 delegates.

Pozo Vera exhorted the Contramaestrian unionists to continue working and to obtain superior results in food production.
