Xi Jinping congratulates Díaz-Canel and highlights links with Cuba

Cuba and China maintain close friendly relations.

Havana, Cuba. – Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated Miguel Diaz-Canel on his election as Cuba’s president, stressed the friendship between the two peoples and reaffirmed his willingness to promote cooperation and bilateral ties together.

In his message, the dignitary assured that the two countries are good friends, partners and brothers, that they have managed to forge a solid fraternity for more than half a century, that they have sincere trust and share the same destiny.

Xi Jinping also communicated with the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Raúl Castro, and conveyed his greetings for the success of the Fourth Extraordinary Session of the Cuban Parliament, held this Thursday in Havana.

She pointed out that China considers the development of relations with Cuba to be of great importance, the Asian nation is willing to maintain communication with Raúl and to write together a new chapter in bilateral friendship.
