Villa Clara stands out for its environmental management
Havana, Cuba. – On June 5, Villa Clara will host the central event for World Environment Day, for standing out in environmental quality, management of natural resources and the actions of the State Plan, Task Life, to face climate change.
The director of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, Odalys Goicochea, highlighted among the province’s results the rescue of more than 80 percent of the infrastructure of the pedraplén that connects the city of Caibarién with the Cayería Norte, and the hotel facilities.
He pointed out that nearly 820 cubic meters of sand were spilled on 6 sectors of beaches belonging to Las Brujas and Santa María Cays.
This year’s World Environment Day centers its call for the reduction of air pollution in each country.
