Villa Clara hosts national event for the Environment Day
Villa Clara, Cuba. – Centers that contributed last year with environmental actions in Villa Clara, receive today deserved recognition in the national ceremony for World Environment Day, which takes place this June 5 in the central province of Cuba.
The territory advanced in studies of danger, vulnerability and risk, in the implementation phase, and it fulfilled missions linked to the Tarea Vida (Task Life), State Plan for Confronting Climate Change.
Prior to the celebration of the event, members of several organizations laid a wreath at the Ernesto Che Guevara Sculpture Ensemble in Santa Clara.
The main event for World Environment Day took place today at the Pioneers Palace in Santa Clara, where national environmental awards were presented, and Villa Clara, Pinar del Río, Camagüey and Granma were recognized as outstanding provinces.
