Tribute to Camilo Cienfuegos
Contramaestre, Cuba. – Students from the Military School Camilo Cienfuegos, in Contramaestre, paid homage to Camilo Cienfuegos who arrived on October 27, 1958 at Yaguajay and founded the Northern Front of Las Villas.
The direction, professors and students of the “Camilitos” laid a wreath before the statue of Commander Camilo Cienfuegos, and new goals were set to pay homage to the hero of Yaguajay.
The Mausoleum of the Northern Front of Las Villas was inaugurated on October 28, 2009 by the First Secretary of the Party, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz.
Camilo Cienfuegos, commanded the Antonio Maceo Invasive Column, which was joined by the Northern Front and other rebel groups.
Commander Camilo Cienfuegos and Ernesto Che Guevara were the chiefs designated by Fidel Castro to carry out the invasion of the West and get the whole nation to fight the tyranny of Fulgencio Batista.
