Tomorrow in Bayamo the central act for the Day of the National Rebellion

At dawn tomorrow, the Plaza de la Patria of Bayamo will host thousands of people from Granma province in the central act for the Day of the National Rebellion, on the 66th anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks in Santiago de Cuba and Bayamo respectively.

The stage is ready for tribute and celebration. For the third time, this square hosts the national event for the Day of the National Rebellion on July 26.

Founded and refounded on this date -first in 1982 and later in 2006- it once again shows a renewed image, after intense days of restoration of the marble veneers of the tribune, the interior premises and the symbolic gardening that tells the story of each species mentioned by José Martí in his Diary of the Campaign.

For the historical day awaited by the hard-working people of Granma, the flame was lit again on the concrete and steel frieze that crowns the emblematic sculptural ensemble – conceived and made by the artist José Ramón de Lázaro Bencomo (Delarra) -, which tells the history of the country in relief.
