The kings of Spain arrive in Santiago de Cuba

Santiago de Cuba, Nov.14 (Prensa Latina) Their Majesties the kings of Spain, Philip VI and Letizia, arrived today at the Antonio Maceo International Airport in this city, where they will visit places of interest during the last hours of their visit to Cuba.

The monarchs were received by Beatriz Johnson, vice-president of the Provincial Government, and were accompanied by the vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Anayansi Rodríguez, and the Cuban ambassador Gustavo Machín.

From the airport, the royal couple went to the fortress of San Pedro de la Roca del Morro, World Heritage Site, located at the entrance to the bay and with significant architectural, historical and cultural values.

Later, they will be in the San Juan Memorial Park, east of the city, where they will pay tribute to the Spanish military fallen during the final clashes of the Spanish-Cuban-American war in July 1898.
