The Extended Arm of the Blockade on Cuba
Havana, Cuba. – The Agroforestry Group of the Ministry of Agriculture has suffered, during 2018 and the beginning of this year, millionaire losses due to the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba during almost six decades.
Dedicated to coffee, cocoa, coconut, beekeeping and forestry activities, the company suffers from a lack of inputs, the impossibility of exporting its productions and obstacles to the collection of sales, informed its vice-president, Luis Enrique Moreno.
He pointed out that cocoa and coffee are the most affected by the U.S. siege, as our country was a strong producer of this last item in the world and the lack of resources to serve the plantations has caused an alarming decline.
Luis Enrique Moreno pointed out that in the forestry sector technological obsolescence and the lack of spare parts for equipment and industry brings damage to the production process.
