Socialism in Cuba was not born in 1959

Contramaestre, Nov. 06.- The ideas that we defend are not new and for today Cuba presents a resolution at the UNO asking for an end to the US blockade against the island.

They do not know that Diego Vicente Tejera founded the First Socialist Party of Cuba on May 22, 1899. Mr. Trump does not know that in 1925 Julio Antonio Mella, Carlos Baliño, founded the First Communist Party of Cuba. So the Cubans who fought against corruption, exploitation, forced eviction, and crime had opted for socialism very early.

But the Great Empire is frightened when the majority of the international community supports Cuba, even though only a few of them are socialists. The background message is dreadful for the pretensions of the U.S. government.

The position of today’s Cubans honors Diego Vicente Tejera, who died on November 6, 1903, and who showed us the path to follow, and here we are and here we will be, without backtracking.
