Several Cuban provinces constituted their Electoral Council
Camagüey, Cuba. – In accordance with what is regulated by Law 127, Electoral Law, this Wednesday the Provincial Electoral Council was constituted in Camagüey, in a solemn ceremony, in the protocol room Nicolás Guillén, in the Plaza de la Revolución Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz.
Before the highest political and government authorities in the territory and representatives of political and mass organizations, 17 men and women took office who swore to act in accordance with the ethical principles that characterize the Cuban political system.
This was ratified by Mariano Basulto Pérez, president of the new body, who shares the main responsibilities with Denia Morejón Reyes, vice-president and Isbel Tendero de Armas, in the role of Secretary.
Isabel Gonzalez Cardenas, president of the Provincial Assembly of People’s Power, said that it opens a stage of much work that will bring proper training to the electoral authorities, young observers and supervisors and timely explanation to the people to ensure, as in previous moments, a successful outcome.
She added that as established by Article 216 of the Constitution of the Republic, it is incumbent upon all state bodies, directors and officials to collaborate in the exercise of the functions of the electoral authorities.
After the constitution this Wednesday of the Provincial Electoral Council, next September 21, the presidents of the Municipal Electoral Councils will be elected in the respective assemblies of People’s Power and on September 27 the Councils will take office.
Electoral Council assumes functions in Las Tunas

The inauguration and swearing in of the Provincial Electoral Council, constituted as in the rest of the country, took place at the Major General Vicente García Memorial today.
Martha Rodriguez Martinez is the president, Eremis Marilyn Tamayo Perez the vice president, Carlos Peña Perez the secretary, and there are 14 members, who all signed the oath of allegiance to the Fatherland, ethics, legality, impartiality and transparency.
The First Secretary of the Communist Party in Las Tunas, Manuel Pérez Gallego, presided over the act of constitution of the Provincial Electoral Council, in charge of organizing, directing, developing and validating the processes of elections, referendums or popular consultations.
The president of the Provincial Assembly of People’s Power, Jaime Chiang Vega, wished the new body success in its work, expressing that the qualitative results will be superior and there will be new victories.
Provincial Electoral Council Constituted in Granma province
In the Protocol room of the Plaza de la Patria in Bayamo, the Electoral Council of Granma was constituted, presided by Antonio de Marcos Ramirez, its vice president is Marlenis Alonso Ramirez and secretary Doris Hernandez.
Those comrades and the 14 members of the Provincial Council signed their oath before Manuel Felix Roig, member of the National Electoral Council, and the highest authorities of the Party and the Government were also present in Granma.
Manuel Sobrino, president of the People’s Power in that eastern region, said that it entails a high responsibility and commitment to integrate the provincial Electoral Council, because they are responsible for fulfilling and enforcing the provisions on electoral issues.
Sobrino Martinez, called on the members of that body to honor at every moment the oath they signed, and impregnate each day devotion and unconditionality.
Havana and Santiago de Cuba have the Provincial Electoral Council

In the presence of Alina Balseiro, president of the National Electoral Council, the Provincial Electoral Council was constituted today in Havana, when its members swore to be loyal to their homeland and fulfill their responsibility with partiality and justice.
On the other hand, presided over by the highest authorities of the Party and the Government in Santiago de Cuba, the Provincial Electoral Council headed by Pedro Pablo Ojeda was presented.
