Providing the cadres with knowledge and skills to enhance their performance
The 22nd edition of the Diplomas in Public Administration and in Business Management and Direction was inaugurated today, Monday, at the Escuela Superior de Cuadros del Estado y el Gobierno (“Superior School of State and Government Managers”), in Havana, with an enrollment of 58 professionals in decision-making positions or cadre reserves, with broad representation of state bodies, Central State Administration Agencies (OACE), national entities, Higher Organization of Business Direction (OSDE), and companies.
At the opening, Rector Mercedes Delgado stressed that since the creation of the center seven years ago, the number of graduates of these courses is 1575 and together with the remaining 27 authorized institutions in the country exceeds 23,000.
She emphasized that the Guidelines and their systematic implementation for the updating of the economic and social model of socialist development are the basis of knowledge and skills and good practices to develop with the upgrading of cadres, management methods, economic culture and respect for the current law, and the use of information technologies and communications, contributing to improve performance in their positions and be better prepared for promotion.
Mercedes Delgado assured that on February 24 the Cuban people will demonstrate to the world once again the strength of our Revolution and the confidence in the leadership of the ¿Communist)Party, the State and the Government, by expressing in majority, the affirmative vote to the new Constitution that will be submitted to referendum.
She added that at the same time, in the conduction of the future of our country, the preparation of the cadres is a strategic and essential activity for the fulfillment of the duties and it constitutes a priority.
Regarding the performance required from the leaders, she recalled the words of the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, in the 9th Legislature of the Cuban Parliament, when she said: “We need a more proactive, intelligent and concrete attitude on the part of the leaders, promoting – not blocking or delaying – safe and particular solutions to problems, with a continuous and intense search for quick and efficient solutions. It is necessary to be more coherent with the Conceptualization of the Economic and Social Model and more systematic and precise in the implementation of the Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy of the Revolution, approved by our Party.
A graduate of the previous edition of the Diplomas in Public Administration and Business Management and Direction, the Cuban Hero, Antonio Guerrero, pointed out that teamwork, united, tributes to a greater integrity in analysis and decision making in practical life. He also highlighted that there are interesting discussions that strengthen the political and ideological preparation in order to understand the moment we are living through, and what our responsibilities are.
He affirmed that it will be an unforgettable 10 weeks with a faculty of prestigious professors who will rigorously contribute to continue training them as leaders because the Revolution, he insisted, needs integral cadres, men of science as Fidel wished: To endow cadres with knowledge and skills necessary to improve their performance.
