Presidents of Bolivia and Nicaragua congratulate Raúl Castro on his birthday
Havana, June 3 (RHC) The presidents of Bolivia, Evo Morales, and Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega congratulated on June 3 the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Raúl Castro Ruz, on his 88th birthday.
Both highlighted his example, firmness, determination and leadership in the consolidation of the Cuban Revolution.
In his Twitter account @evoespueblo, the Bolivian dignitary pointed out:
On his birthday, we congratulate brother Raúl Castro, a great leader who together with Fidel consolidated the liberation of Cuba and inspired the anti-imperialist resistance of our peoples. May life allow us to continue fighting for many more years.
Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo wrote in a message from Nicaragua:
“88 years and all those who come, in permanent struggle and in victories of peace and affection for their people, for that heroic and beloved Cuba, and for all the peoples of Our America, to whom Fidel (Castro), you Raúl, and the magnificent and ever-present Cuban revolution, inspire us as an example of firmness and decision.
The Central American leader pointed out the current difficulties faced by both countries and called on them to find the strength to overcome them in history, in lived experiences, and in the ideals and values of the peoples.
Raúl Castro was born on 3 June 1931 in Birán, Holguín (then the province of Oriente), and he is the fourth son of the Castro-Ruz family.
He was the expeditionary of the yacht Granma, guerrilla, Chief of the Second Eastern Front ‘Frank País’, Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, second secretary of the PCC, and in 2008 he became president of Cuba, a position he held until last year. (Source: PL)
