Over 9,000 Contramaestrian workers get wage increases
Over 9,500 Contramaestrian workers will get the wage increase approved by the Cuban state for the budgeted sector, whose remunerations began to be implemented in August 2019.
There are eight budgeted units of local subordination and an attached spending center, which benefit from the increase in the salary of their workers. The Medical Sciences and Social Security Branches are included, as well as the Agriculture Delegation, of national and provincial competence, respectively.
The new salary treatment to the Contramaestre’s budgeted sector implies an increase in the workers of seven agencies: sports, communal, education, local government, work and social security directions, culture and housing sectors.
To support the wage increase in this territory has been required, for the remainder of the present 2019, of a financial amount in excess of $23 million pesos, a resource that is guaranteed as expressed Mireydis Torres Ledo, director in the Municipal Direction of Finance and Prices.
Torres Ledo added that in addition to the readjustments made to the 2019 budget items, regarding the non-execution of expenses by certain savings measures, an efficient fiscal discipline is needed in accordance with Law 113, About the Cuban Tax System.
One of the reasons for the increase in salaries implied by the Cuban government’s recent measure is to stimulate the national economy. In addition, more than 11,000 retirees and pensioners of the general social security system, who had been earning up to 500 pesos, will receive increases in their means of payment.
