New school for disabled children in central Cuba

The Marta Abreu school for disabled children will be opened in Santa Clara after a total refurbishment process.

The modern centre, which will open its doors next week, it will house 120 disabled children and their respective companions from Camagüey, Ciego de Ávila, Sancti Spíritus, Villa Clara and Cienfuegos provinces.

The students in a first stage will be taught pedagogy from pre-school to secondary level, and later their insertion into working life will be evaluated.

The Minister of Education, Ena Elsa Velázquez, toured the premises and areas where the children will get attention from specialists for their physical and psychological rehabilitation, in addition, she was interested in the preparation of the personnel who will teach the students.
