New housing legislation enters into force in Cuba today
Havana, Cuba. – Today, two new norms come into force that implement the policy of ordering and legalization of housing, bedrooms, rooms, accessories and premises, as well as the change of use and transfer of premises.
The regulations will contribute to improving the country’s housing fund, as more than 70,000 homes can be registered that present construction actions without legalization, for non-compliance with the regulations.
With the implementation of these norms, which govern the process of ordering and legalizing the rooms, 230,000 families throughout Cuba will benefit.
Those who own homes finished by their own efforts, without legalizing it, must apply to the Municipal Direction of Physical Planning for a Technical Report, then request ownership of the property in the Municipal Direction of Housing, and then pay the perpetual surface right.
