MINCEX reports on donations to Havana
The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (MINCEX) is the central government agency responsible for coordinating international aid.
It is a well-structured process, which has been used each time the country has experienced natural disasters.
In order to support the people affected and the recovery work after the meteorological phenomenon that affected Havana last Sunday, January 27th, the e-mail address donacionxlahabana@mincex.gob.cu has been set up to attend any interest.
Donations of material resources from abroad, be they from governments, companies, non-governmental organizations or natural persons, can be communicated to the Cuban embassies in the country where the donor is located.
Accounts authorized for donations
The Cuban government is responsible for organizing arrival, duty-free entry and distribution. In the case of donations of financial resources in foreign currency, the International Financial Bank has a qualified account number 0300000005093523.
In the national territory the donations of resources are channeled through the Council of the Provincial Government of Havana.
For monetary aid, an account has been opened at Banco Metropolitano under number 0598770003953216, which can be done from any branch.
The most necessary materials are: means for the recovery of roof covers and tanks for water tanks.
