The first five-star hotel, Selection category, of the Spanish chain IberoStar opened in the east of Cuba, began operations in the province of Holguín, since last 16, according to a report made public today by the company to the local press.
The facility has 12 different buildings and low height, six restaurants, four swimming pools and a tropical garden, very close to Pesquero Beach, in the area known as Estero, a few miles from Cayo Bariay, site where the Grand Admiral Christopher Columbus first landed in the greatest of the Antilles, in October 1492.
Alexei Torres Velázquez, marketing executive of the chain, during a tour around the new facility explained to journalists that the hotel has 638 rooms of different categories, adapted to all types of customers, distributed in bungalows.
At the same time, he stressed that the facility has two presidential suites and 60 rooms with the exclusive Star Prestige service, in an area only for adults that includes a wide variety of Premium amenities along with other attractions with privileged views to the beach and its coasts, as well as access to exclusive areas and special services.
As a hallmark of the Spanish company in Cuba, this will also be the first hotel in the east of the island that will have a water park, an attraction that is widely accepted by the youngest members of the family.
Other details about the start-up of the IberoStar-Holguín hotel will be published in the course of the week in a report with exclusive images and statements offered to the Cuban News Agency.
This hotel group, based in Palma de Mallorca and one of the main Spanish tourist consortiums, currently has 120 four and five-star hotels in 18 countries on three continents, including Cuba, where it celebrates 25 years of experience in commercializing its markets.
