Historical, another silver medal for Cuba in Lima 2019 pentathlon
Lima-. Leydi Laura Moya and José Ricardo Figueroa today won the silver medal in the modern pentathlon mixed relay event and Cuba culminates this sport in the 18th Pan American Games of Lima 2019 with outstanding results.
The Cuban pair accumulated 1,455 units and their best performance was in fencing, specialty in which they finished second with 254 points, while in swimming they finished third with 2:02.94 minutes.
The Americans Isabella Isaksen and Amro Elgeziry won the gold medal, with a score of 1,467, while the Guatemalans María Ximena Diéguez and Charles David Fernández won the bronze medal, with 1,442.
In Lima 2019, Leydi Laura and Eliani Cámara were runners-up in the women’s relay and Leydi Laura obtained bronze in the individual event, in which Eliani finished fifth and Delmis Dalia Pérez, in 12th place, while Léster Ders finished fourth among the men.
Leydi Laura and Léster also qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
