Gymnast Yesenia Ferrera wins silver on pommel horse in Lima

The Cuban Yesenia S. Ferrera obtained today silver medal in the pommel horse, in the finals of the artistic gymnastics event of the 18th Pan American Games, with headquarters in this city, the Peruvian capital.

Ferrera, one of the greatest exponents of gymnastics in the largest of the Antilles, achieved an average score of 14,391, thanks to the first jump of 14,600, the best in the final phase, and second of 14,183.

Ahead of the Cuban was Elisabeth A. Black (14,450) from Canada, while the representative of the northern country Shallon J. Olsen (14,183) won the bronze medal.

Marcia T. Vidiaux (13,583), also from the Caribbean nation, finished seventh in the same category.

This Tuesday the medalists are still to be defined in the still rings for men and the uneven bars for women.
