Good mood among Cuban baseball players
Panama City – Pablo Civil, manager of the Leñadores de Cuba, said on Monday afternoon that the team is prepared and in a very good mood. The boys are happy, eager to start playing, he said after insisting that there is favorable atmosphere and much unity.
A few hours before the Cuban team’ debut in the Caribbean Series, their players concentrated for a couple of hours on a piece of land in the capital city for their first training session after arriving in Panama. It’s not a terrain with the right conditions, but it allows us to prepare and spread our arms,” said the coach.
He added that this Tuesday there will be another training session around one o’clock in the afternoon at the Rod Carew National Stadium, where a couple of hours later they will face the Charros de Jalisco, in search of their first victory in the Caribbean Games.
CONFIRMED LAZARO BLANCO TO OPEN
Civil ratified Lazaro Blanco as the opening pitcher, and he did not rule out that he could come back out in the fourth game next Saturday, depending on how things are then for the Cuban roster.
The second in the rotation would be Freddy Asiel, and then Yoanni Yera and Dariel Góngora, if it was not necessary to use Yera as a substitute.
He postponed until the last minute the starting line-up of the Leñadores, in which at this point there are still doubts about who will be the second regular base and the designated batter. Those responsibilities, I am inclined to believe, will fall to midfielder Jorge E. Alomá and Danel Castro, two key players in the triumph of the newly crowned champions.
A man as confident in great moments as Cepeda is an excellent first emergent. At least, to begin with.
The Cuban manager hopes the victory in the first game. His team is ready.
