Fighting Aedes Aegypti mosquito all over Cuba
Havana, Cuba. As the period of heavy rains and high temperatures is approaching, an intensive action plan against the Aedes Aegypti mosquito is being undertaken in 37 municipalities in the country, identified as most at risk.
The National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Durán, stressed that they are developing focal treatment and environmental sanitation actions to prevent epidemics.
He stressed that they also reinforce adulticide treatment in complex apples as well as the review of all water storage tanks, which, he said, they account for 73 percent of the focus.
The expert emphasized that although the epidemiological situation is favorable, the risks in terms of arbovirosis cannot be neglected, and it called for the active participation of all to effectively fight Aedes Aegypti.
