Diaz-Canel Receives Prime Minister of Belize

The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, officially received Dean Oliver Barrow, Prime Minister of Belize, who has been visiting the Island since Monday.

As part of the ceremony held in the Palace of the Revolution, the high representatives listened to the national anthems of Cuba and Belize; they reviewed the troops and exchanged handshakes and hugs with the members of both delegations.

On the Cuban side, Bruno Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Rodrigo Malmierca, head of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, were present.

Subsequently, they held a meeting in which they discussed issues of interest to both nations, related to events and processes taking place in the region.

Dean Oliver Barrow’s agenda began this afternoon with a tribute to the most universal of Cubans, José Martí, in the memorial under the same name, by placing a wreath at the feet of the Master and remaining a few minutes in silence.

The Prime Minister’s official visit to the Major of the Antilles will extend to next Friday.
