Diaz-Canel Ratifies Support for Venezuela in the Face of U.S. Attacks
Caracas.- At the closing ceremony of the 25th Sao Paulo Forum, held in Caracas since July 25, the head of state urged representatives of the world left to play a leading role in the current scenario in the face of the escalation of the oligarchy and Washington’s threats to global peace.
We ratify before the world our support and solidarity with Nicolás Maduro and the civil-military union that has made the enemy’s plans fail many times,” said the dignitary.
Díaz-Canel assured that Cubans will continue to accompany the Venezuelan resistance, as well as denounce in all international scenarios the economic, political and media siege that the Bolivarian nation is experiencing.
Unity and integration were the great obsessions of commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez, and they must be ours, insisted the Antillean leader in the activity that took place in the Miraflores Palace, headquarters of the Executive.
In this regard, he highlighted that Fidel was the first to recognize in the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, his qualities to defend the sovereignty of Venezuela, and to lead the country along the path of a just society with equitable social benefits for its people.
In this sense, he assured that peace in Venezuela is equivalent to the defense of the entire region, ” it is to stop the imperialist escalation against the peoples,” he explained.
The Sao Paulo Forum summons us to condemn and demand the lifting of the US blockade on Cuba. It also unites us to reject the scandalous acts of the empire against the families of migrants, said the president.
Likewise, he pointed out that we are here to accompany the heroic Venezuelan resistance and demand an end to the brutal siege imposed on it. Venezuela is today the first trench of the anti-imperialist struggle! he sentenced.
He also demanded the release of Brazilian leader Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, which he described as one of the great challenges for the left in the region, “we have to put an end to this injustice,” he said.
On the other hand, Díaz-Canel praised the march held this Saturday with an anti-imperialist character and solidarity for peace, through the streets of Caracas, in which they walked together with the legitimate representatives of the Venezuelan people, leaders and social activists from the five continents in defense of the heroic chavista process.
To support and defend Venezuela is to decisively confront the return of the Monroe Doctrine and the imperialist escalation against our peoples,” said the president of the Caribbean island.
He asserted that the Forum is the best platform to ratify that Cuba will never renounce or betray its principles or Venezuela.
Cuba says no, imperialist gentlemen, we don’t understand each other, confirmed Díaz-Canel.
The 25th Sao Paulo Forum focused its four days on the advances of neoliberalism and the hegemonic powers that try to subjugate the peoples of the world, as well as the attacks against freedom and democracy in Venezuela.
The representatives of more than 100 political parties and social and solidarity movements, during their extensive debates, defended the permanent dialogue between the Venezuelan government and all sectors of the country.
