Diaz-Canel Hosts Haitian President

The President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, hosted Tuesday the President of the Republic of Haiti, His Excellency Mr. Jovenel Moïse, who is paying an official visit to Cuba.

In a friendly atmosphere, both leaders reviewed the progress of positive bilateral relations; they highlighted the significance of 20 years of uninterrupted cooperation between the two nations, which began on December 4, and agreed on the importance of continuing to develop these bonds for the benefit of both peoples. They also discussed different issues on the international agenda.

Accompanying the distinguished visitor were Bocchit Edmond, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship; Grèta Clement Roy, Minister of Public Health and Population; Ardouin Zepherin, Special Advisor; Lesly David, Ambassador of Haiti in Venezuela; Jude Piquant, Director of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship; Guito Edouard, General Director of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Direction; and Elvire Beauchard, a.i. Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Haiti in Cuba.

On the Cuban side, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz and José Ángel Portal Miranda, Ministers of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment and Public Health, respectively; the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rogelio Sierra Díaz; and the Cuban Ambassador to Haiti, Luis Castillo Campos, participated.
