Diaz-Canel congratulates Nicaragua on the anniversary of the Sandinista Triumph

Havana, Cuba. – Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulated the people and government of Nicaragua on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Triumph of the Sandinista Revolution.

In his Twitter account, the president wrote, referring to a verse from a song by Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez: Nicaragua hurts them, because love hurts them, we sing in the 40 years of the Sandinista Revolution, which changed Latin American history.

In the same digital platform Díaz-Canel added: Long live the Sandinista Revolution. Our heartfelt congratulations to President Daniel Ortega, Vice President Rosario Murillo, and the Nicaraguan people.

In a similar communication, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez quoted a phrase from Fidel Castro: The Sandinista Triumph is not just victory over 45 years of somocismo; it is victory over 150 years of foreign domination.
