Cuba’s Natural and Traditional Medicine reached its best indicators
Havana, Cuba. – The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, led a meeting focused on the most recent applications, results and challenges of Natural and Traditional Medicine in Cuba.
At the meeting, the Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, stated that by the end of 2018 the Island had reached the best historical indicators in this sphere.
It was reported that since the 1960s the basic table of natural products has grown from 32 to 153 assortments, out of which 97 are locally produced and 56 are industrial.
In this regard, Diaz-Canel insisted on defending at all times that each technique or product introduced be scientifically validated.
It can become an exportable product.
The Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, highlighted the importance of taking advantage of the potential that exists in the different laboratories of Natural and Traditional Medicine to increase production.
According to the Minister of Public Health, Jose Angel Portal Miranda, in all territories are implemented basic courses to treat emergencies and the Diploma in Natural and Traditional Medicine.
On the other hand, Roberto Morales Ojeda, vice-president of Cuba, stressed that the industry still has many reserves to reach a higher level of supplies and quantities, which can also become an exportable line of the country.
Morales Ojeda emphasized that there are 10 therapeutic modalities of Natural and Traditional Medicine regulated in Cuba, among which Acupuncture and its related techniques stand out.
