Cuban President attends course on normative techniques

Miguel Diaz-Canel, President of Cuba, attended the opening ceremony of the intensive course on normative techniques for deputies and jurists, in support of the broad legislative process taking place in the country.

When speaking at the ceremony, the Cuban president referred to the fact that this action, which is being carried out as a postgraduate course at the Faculty of Law of Havana University, responds to: “A challenge, the dissatisfaction and the application of a Concept”, according to the digital portal of the Presidency of the Republic.

According to this source, the President pointed out as a challenge the comprehensive process that involves analysis, research, proposal and discussion and as a dissatisfaction the need for jurists to participate since the creation of policies, in processes that should not be too long.

Diaz-Canel noted as a concept to apply that every time we have a complex process, we go to the University, applying scientific research and innovation.

Under the protection of the Magna Carta endorsed last February 24 there are more than 50 laws that must be updated, and within them regulations and resolutions where the principles defined in the new Constitution will be implemented.

During the sessions of the National Assembly of People’s Power last month, it was reported that progress has been made in the development of policies and legal texts of several of these regulations, in compliance with transitional provisions of the Constitution.

On that occasion, the members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Matters learned details about the progress of the work schedule, which includes different activities in a short period of time by multidisciplinary committees, which, they insisted, should not affect the quality and depth of legislation.

The Law of the Popular Courts, the Civil, Administrative, Labor and Economic Procedure, the Execution of Sanctions and the Electoral Law were some of the legal bodies whose elaboration process was examined by Cuban parliamentarians at that time.
