Cuba works to modernize mail service, despite US blockade

Cuba is working to modernize its mail services despite the US economic, financial and commercial blockade, said Communications Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo, speaking at a sector forum.

Perdomo reiterated that Cuba is proud to contribute to the exchange of ideas in the postal sector, and stressed the importance of the strategic forum of the Universal Postal Union for the Caribbean, which is meeting for the first time in Havana.

Meetings of this type make it possible to socialize initiatives to develop postal communications, said the headline.

The Secretary General of the Caribbean Postal Union, Guillermo Raymond, said that our presence in this forum shows the seriousness and responsibility of Caribbean nations to share experiences on issues such as postal infrastructure and improvement of services.
